Love Is a Choice

🌿 Reflection
Love gives life meaning — not the fleeting kind we see on screens or hear in songs, but the kind that reaches deep, steady, and true.
It’s in the laughter of a child that reminds us of innocence.
It’s in the hug of a friend who shows up before we call.
It’s in the comfort of a familiar voice that says, “I’m here.”
But love isn’t always easy.
The love Jesus calls us to — agape love — asks us to love even those who may not love us back. It stretches our hearts beyond what feels fair, beyond what’s comfortable. And that’s where we begin to look more like Him.
Without the Holy Spirit, we can’t love this way.
It’s not natural — it’s spiritual.
It’s a fruit that grows in us only when we stay rooted in God.
When we choose patience instead of irritation, forgiveness instead of pride, compassion instead of indifference — we are bearing His fruit.
So if love feels hard, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re being refined.
And each time you choose love anyway, you are becoming more like Jesus.
🚶♀️ Walking Prompt – “Choosing Love Anyway”
As you walk today, think of someone who may be difficult to love — someone who has hurt, misunderstood, or distanced themselves from you.
Pray for them quietly as you walk.
Ask God to soften your heart and fill you with His Spirit — not because it’s easy, but because it’s what God commands of us and it’s holy.
💬 Reflection Question
Who is God asking me to love — not because they deserve it, but because He first loved me?
🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me in all my imperfection.
Teach me to love with the same grace You give — steady, patient, and kind.
When it’s hard, remind me that love is not a feeling but a choice empowered by Your Spirit.
Help me love without expecting anything in return, because that is when I am most like You.
Amen.
